Soul officially alight

Now this would have been just cause to take a vacation day as opposed to spending yet more time at St Thomas'.

Tuesday 17 July 2012

Speaking of blocky goodness...

Nineteen/366 : The aforementioned Rubik's Cube pumpkin.

Carved at koOkaberries's Halloween Pumpkin Carving Party in 2010. The tiny fracture on the the top face of the cube is where I believe the jackass skunk under my stairs took a nibble of the pumpkin. He was probably put off by the saltiness of the sweat and tears that went into carving this over the course of several hours.

The Amazing Spider-man

Infinitely better than the 2002 adaptation. Though Martin Sheen holding a Rubik's Cube may have tipped the scale for me.

And so it starts afresh

Seventeen/366: A room with a view

Fresh out of hospital. He took such good care of me. And now all this is ours. Rebuilt without an appendix, new flat with a perfect line of sight to all the river traffic on the Thames.

Monday 2 July 2012

Maple Pride

Sixteen/366 : Tattoo application at the flip cup table

Bless Canada and its useful resources.

O! Canada

Fifteen/366 : Rockin' Trafalgar Square July 1st. Happy 145th Birthday, Canada.

Monday 16 January 2012

Whose job is this?

Fourteen/366 : This isn't even the best gem I've found on church signs across London.

Sunday 15 January 2012

Yellow Army

Thirteen/366 : First football match in the UK. Watford v Reading.

Saturday 14 January 2012

Just another day at work

Twelve/366 : A night with a Steinway and John Lill at The Wathen Hall.
Achy arms holding doors as the usher the night after dodgeball.

Friday 13 January 2012

Social AND Sport

Eleven/ 366 : At the Hand & Flower after dodgeball with GO Mammoth.
We've been upgraded to reserved seating every week. And so marks the moment I acknowledge that I failed this whole photo a day thing.

366 Project Day 10

Ten/366 : New guilty pleasure, by proxy.
Swedish Rekorderlig at the Wellington. I've even found some places serving it piping hot. This stuff will be my low key drink of the summer no doubt. A rather feminine presentation but it speaks the truth.

Tuesday 10 January 2012

366 Project Day 9

Nine/366 : Perfectly content living without a (functioning or existent) microwave.

Sunday 8 January 2012

366 Project Day 8

Eight/366 : First nighttime ride on the Thames Clipper
This doubles up on my other resolution do do more London-y things this year. And I promise to post photos of things other than the Thames.

Saturday 7 January 2012

366 Project Day 7

Seven/366 : All-in-one bottle/can opener at work. The space you save having everything in one, you lose in time figuring out which of the 6 bits and functions to use.

P.S. Nom, Cider.

Friday 6 January 2012

366 Project Day 6

Six/366 : Favourite view of the Thames so far.

366 Project Day 5

Five/366 : View leaving work, remnants of daylight; the days are getting longer!

Wednesday 4 January 2012

366 Project Day 4

Four/366 : On the approach to LHR, the skies clear after a stormy and rather windy flight across the Atlantic.

366 Project Day 3

Flying back to LHR via YOW. Much as the rest of Ottawa, there wasn't very much open/going on in the airport on a Tuesday night so I sad alongside this water feature eating a sandwich. The back panel of glass had one of my favourite Trudeau quotes: "I know a man whose school could never teach him patriotism, but who acquired that virtue when he felt in his bones the vastness of his land, and the greatness of those who founded it".

Three/366 : YOW

Tuesday 3 January 2012

366 Project Day 2

Two/366 : Survival kit for watching planes land at -15 C.
Tim Hortons coffee, HBC Team Canada winter apparel, flight status apps and a shiny Airbus A380-800.

366 Project

One/366 Home for the holidays
New Year's resolution. 366 Project (it's a leap year, people). Made it home to Montreal for the holidays. Wish granted, I got snow.
